Same Mission

Welcome to the Language of Connection. I hope these words connect. I wrote the poem below at a time in my when my life's purpose was becoming clearer, yet I was constantly being questioned & often misguided about it by others. Many times, what others thought was the best use of my talent or gifts didn't feel in alignment with the responsibility of having such a gift. Most of the time the advice was well intentioned "guidance". It’s not often that someone was trying to steer me the wrong direction intentionally (although that happens as well). For the most part, people are well intentioned when they weigh in on your life. The most common problem we can all relate to is; most the time we didn't ask. However, the reason a great deal of solicited or unsolicited advice, usually needs to be heavily filtered through is because; someone know parts of you, is rarely the right person to offer guidance on what to do with all of you. They can only assess your path through its relevance to their own journey.
We generally only have the means to assess someone else’s mission from that space, no matter what it looks like or how it presents itself. Because who ought to know "all of you" best? That’s right... Your Mother. No! it's a joke. I’m kidding. You and only you must decide. Not choose, but decide! There is a difference. When we "choose" we are are making a choice based on the options available to us. When we decide we are choosing our course creating the options we want based on the decision you've already made up your mind about. I realized something about our individual vibrations.
If we look, I mean really take a look at our personal history and identify the things that drew or called our attention over time...We will see a pattern. Slowly it will emerge, in the form of multiple trending points. Throughout the course of our life, it will appear in the types of activities and the types of places we have naturally willingly invested our time, energy, effort, gifts, and delight. This will help us identify a pattern, giving birth to a root cause, the same passion, the mission that has always been at the base of all our endeavors.
That’s the title of this next poem, "Same Mission". In essence, it's all about this mission and the journey to discovery. Reminding us, the key to this internal clarity is found in your own singular journey. As we purify that vision throughout our endeavors, we continue to create and present it to the world. Then, over time what was always clear for us, clears up for everyone else. A "visionary" wouldn’t be called that if everyone else could see the vision all along, from the beginning. That's actually what defines a "visionary", to be able to see what no one else could. This is one reason why the veil is so thin between insanity and genius. One of the main motifs of the following poem, which can be found in the repetition of the refrain is the central question,
"Are we building our life around the pain we’ve experienced in the past or are we building our life around a vision for the future & through our focus drawing ourselves nearer to that vision?
Same Mission
I've studied the valleys and peaks,
Of this world and all its mystique,
The colors are ravishing,
Digital screens that we cling to
are neat, but weak,
In comparison, to the green
On the trees that I see,
Lace up, come running with me,
At one point I made the mistake
Of thinking I'd seen all,
there had been to see,
Inside of my world,
Inside of my girl
I was thirsty to see,
To seek,
To treat each village
That welcomed my feet,
As my own...
And I challenged myself in the heat,
And I challenged my body in cold,
The journey was rough I was told,
Success? That's as far as she goes...
You haven't met me, I suppose,
Immaculate package of frequencies,
Energy molecules put on this earth,
To astonish you,
Poet I don't think that's possible,
That's why I'm here,
So you witness the miracle,
Everything's possible,
The moment you flip it,
And give it ignition
and chuck up the deuces
to the voices that question,
Instead of support your decisions,
Aye! Listen,
Been quiet, reflecting
And minding my business,
Same Mission!
Guide my decisions,
To make them effective,
Train! Intuition,
I do it with passion,
See that you finish,
Pain! Vision,
Which one do you blame,
And what can you gain?
Let’s discuss - let me know what you got from it in the comments section.
